South Sudan Trip Blog 2013 Posted April 25, 2013

Jok Dau and Steve Walker leave Saturday, April 27th for South Sudan.  They plan to meet with the Government of South Sudan Ministry of Health officials, interview final candidates for the nurse/midwife and laboratory technician staff positions, purchase medical equipment, supplies, and  furniture for the Maternal and Child Health Unit, and complete construction of the staff housing.  Jok  and Steve will also meet with village chiefs and elders and the community health committee to plan the opening of the Maternal and Child Health Unit.  Thank you to the women of Scioto Ridge United Methodist church for the pillowcase dresses, and Darlene Haworth for knitting forty new born hats that will be given to first forty babies in Piol born under the care of a medical professional.
